Care Matters Homecare have revealed the strategic growth plan as it prepares bids for new tenders to provide care services for a range of local authorities across the region.

Care Matters Homecare has offices in Darlington and Stockton, and is now in the process of registering a new Middlesbrough office with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Care Matters Homecare became part of the Newlands Group in October 2013, and it now employs more than 200 people, providing domiciliary care, as well as complex care packages to support the NHS.

Newlands Group founder, Phil Crowther, said: “Care Matters Homecare has been established for more than 10 years now and it has been a story of consistent growth, based on providing the best possible care services.

“Over that time, we’ve built a high-quality management structure and an amazing team of carers, so we feel the time is right to take Care Matters Homecare to the next level and establish a wider presence in the region.

“There is a danger in the care sector of trying to grow too quickly, but this is part of a strategic expansion plan that is sustainable and gives us the best chance of long-term success.”

The new Middlesbrough office, servicing an existing contract with Middlesbrough Borough Council, will be located at the TAD Centre, in Ormesby Road.

The TAD Centre is already home to another key part of the Newlands Group, The Robin Centre, which provides day services for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities.

The office is also strategically placed to potentially service forthcoming contracts with Redcar and Cleveland Council.

Meanwhile, Care Matters Homecare is in the process of reapplying for a contract to provide domiciliary care for Stockton Borough Council, along with an extra care scheme based at Meadowfield House, having become established as a trusted service provider for the authority in recent years.

The company, headed by managing director, Lisa Spark, is also preparing to tender for an imminent contract with Darlington Borough Council.

In addition, it is launching a recruitment campaign in Shildon and Aycliffe to support an existing contract with Durham County Council, with a view to opening another office in Durham.

“What’s clear is that 2024 will be a pivotal year for Care Matters Homecare,” added Mr Crowther. “With so many council contracts coming up for tender, our aim is to be fully prepared by adopting a strategy of continuous recruitment in all of the areas we already serve and hope to serve in the near future.”
