Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic across all social care settings, The Robin Centre has thrived in 2021. With more members of the centre now, than before the pandemic, as the centre celebrates two years in business, we are able to plan for another 12 months of success.

Back in September 2020, The Robin Centre became the first day care centre in Middlesbrough to reopen, following the initial nationwide lockdown. With Victoria Hubery employed as centre manager during that summer, she immediately became integral to setting the centre up to provide socially-distanced, safe day care to the members.

Our group-wide philosophy on education has always been that everybody should have the opportunity to reach personal goals. From her first day in the role, Victoria was able to implement the engaging, person-centred learning activities required to achieve this.

Since then, the centre has welcomed new members referred by Middlesbrough social services, and private members whose support network got in touch directly. At all times, Victoria and her team have provided a safe, exciting, and vibrant environment which every member has been able to enjoy.

Managing Director, Lisa Spark, had this to say of The Robin Centre’s success – and landmark date: “To see the centre in such a great place, as it celebrates two years since opening, is wonderful to see for us all.”

“Victoria has been successful since her first day in the role. And with the ongoing support from the group, our ambitions for The Robin Centre are being realized – despite the enormous disruption to activities over the last 18 months.”

“With more members now than ever before, the growth of The Robin Centre over the last two years months has been nothing short of outstanding.”

The Robin Centre is based at The TAD Centre, Ormesby Road, Middlesbrough. To learn more about the centre, write to us at Newlands Group via email or contact Victoria Hubery via email.
